Ann commented soon after she received the news:

“I'm so proud, honoured and grateful to announce that the King of Sweden has appointed me "Hovsångerska" - Royal court singer - together with my dear friend and colleague John Lundgren (who was my Guglielmo at Drottningholm 21 years ago!)  This is a dream come true, something I never thought would happen! I'm so, so happy!”
