We thought we'd celebrate the red priest's birthday by sharing a new recording of his opera Arsilda, regina di Ponto, released in 2025 by our Artistic Director Andrea Marcon with his La Cetra Barockorchester and Vokalensemble Basel.

This dramma per musica with libretto by Domenico Lalli was first performed at the Teatro Sant'Angelo (Venice, October 1716). As a theatre, the Sant'Angelo is remarkably close to that of the Teatro San Cassiano and thus we look forward to being a good home for the Vivaldi's operas once the theatre opens, as projected, in 2028.
