CIRCOLO ITALO-BRITANNICO

Tuesday 15th saw Paul talk as guest speaker at a special evening organised by the Circolo Italo-Britannico Venezia to present the project Teatro San Cassiano

Paul presented a talk entitled: Reconstructing the Teatro San Cassiano (Venice, 1637): need, solution and opportunity.

It was a hugely enjoyable evening with much interest and many insightful questions from those attending.

The evening was compered by the Italo’s President Professor Valerio de Scarpis and ended with Paul being awarded honorary lifetime membership of the Circolo by Events Secretary Christine Marigonda, BEM, for which our whole team feels truly humbled and grateful.

The Circolo Italo-Britannico Venezia is a self-financed non-profit association founded in Venice in 1967 with the aim of promoting cultural relations between Italy, Great Britain and the English-speaking world. It is also proposed to encourage the circulation of information between Italian and foreign institutions that share the same cultural promotion guidelines.

A huge thank you to Chairman Professor Valerio de Scarpis, the Vice-Chairman Dr Christopher Wayman, the Patron Lady Clarke CBE (a long-time dear friend of the project). and the Events Secretary Christine Marigonda.

The evening was held at the Auditorium Fondazione Querini Stampalia, for which we thank dott.ssa Marigusta Lazzari (another dear and kind friend of the project).
