Congratulations to Future Cities Forum for such a successful and important event supporting “Sustainable approaches to cultural tourism” in Venice
We were so happy to be invited to support this event. Our first love is opera, but as much as much as we are concentrated on restoring to Venice the Teatro San Cassiano of 1637, as the world’s first opera house, we too are completely dedicated to a sustainable future for Venice both in its build and in its operation. We don’t believe we have an option not to be. The Teatro San Cassiano must be as much about the future as it is the past.
As such, and together with our partners, we were delighted to play a lead role at this landmark forum. We sincerely hope it is repeated next year and hopefully this time to an open public.
Many thanks to our CEO Paul Atkin our architect Jon Greenfield, and especially to the insightful contributions of our partners and friends: first Maria Claudia Pignata at VeniSIA and Hélène Molinari at SUMus, and then Carla Toffolo at Europa Nostra.
The point of the forum is also to bring together experts over several sectors, and here particularly important contributions were made by Neil MacOmish, Scott Brownrigg, Professor Jacopo Galli of IUAV / Venice Sustainability Foundation, Paolo Micucci, CEO of CityLife Head of Engineering & Project Management, Generali Real Estate, and Keb Garavito-Bruhn, Partner at Pilbrow & Partners.
We will post the link for streaming to the event on our website and social media for you to watch.
Thank you to Heather Fearfield and Matthew Locke BBC Journalist for this great opportunity and for organizing such an important event. Thank you also to Ida Ossi, Carla Salaris, Wendy Briner and Rally Prato for the efforts made in attending and for comments made on the day.
